
MSNBC has an interesting
article about the reconstruction of a Native American language for the upcoming movie about Pocahontas and Captain John Smith called "The New World". A linguist at UNC-Charlotte, named Blair Rudes, resurrected the language from a couple of surviving writings and knowledge of other related, but better documented, Algonquian languages.
